About Trish After many years in the software development business, I determined that although the work was financially rewarding, it was not personally fulfilling. I searched for alternatives to my career, which led me down several new paths and eventually to the world of bodywork. My journey began with the Pennsylvania School of Muscle Therapy (PSMT) and their Swedish massage program (I had very little knowledge of Shiatsu at this time). Well, as good fortune would have it, the massage classes did not fit into my schedule so I decided to try their beginner Shiatsu course. I never looked back! After completing the Shiatsu course under the expert direction of Jill Silverstein -- a wonderful and compassionate person as well as great teacher -- I continued my studies at the International School of Shiatsu (ISS) in Doylestown, PA. I completed the ISS Foundation program in 2000, at which time I resigned from my corporate job and began my Shiatsu practice full-time. I continued to study Shiatsu/Shin Tai at ISS and I completed the Practitioner Program in January 2002, which allowed me to be Certified by the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA). Overall, my Shiatsu training consisted of 700+ hours of hands-on training as well as 250 hours of documented treatment reports. In 2002, I also passed the exam administered by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) to become certified as a Diplomate in Asian Bodywork Therapy. I also began studying Craniosacral Therapy in 2004 with the Upledger Institute. I have completed Craniosacral Therapy Levels I & II, Somatoemotional Release I and Craniosacral Therapy for Pediatrics 1. I am thrilled to add this modality to my bodywork repertoire. It is so rewarding for me to see the positive changes in my clients through bodywork and other lifestyle changes. I am forever grateful to all of my teachers who have help me along this path and to my clients who have also been my teachers along the way. There is much to learn and experience if we open ourselves to the myriad of possibilities. I wish you well on your journey and invite you to take part in mine. Take care, |
